Carroll Sons, Inc. has been in business since 1962. It was started by 2 brothers, Bob and Paul Carroll. The Carroll brothers grew up around roofing. Their father, Woodbury “Bill” Carroll, was the owner of, Carroll & Randell, Inc. a successful business in the 1950s. He taught them that hard work paid off. They were a good team, Paul preferring to work outside with the crew and Bob ran the office. Over the years 3 more brothers joined the business as well as sons and nephews.
In 1977 at the age of 14, Paul’s son Jack began working weekends and during school vacations. Working with his mentor and Dad, Jack learned everything from estimating jobs, installing roofs, gutters, and exterior carpentry. Paul started grooming Jack in the ways of the family business and what it takes to be successful.
Upon the untimely death of his brother Bob in 1984, Paul became sole Owner and President of Carroll Sons. In addition to roofing, Paul added a variety of gutters, siding, replacement windows and carpentry to his portfolio.
Carroll Sons was Paul’s pride and joy, especially since it had stemmed from his father’s business. On February 16, 2017, Paul passed away. His wish was that his son Jack would take over and run the company with the same hard work and pride that he carried through the years. In December 2017, Jack became Owner and President of Carroll Sons. Paul’s daughter Kelley is Office Manager and runs the day-to- day office responsibilities together with her brother Jack.
Jack can be found on the job site throughout the day, ensuring the quality of their work. Like Paul, Jack believes customer satisfaction is their number #1 priority. Carroll Sons has an A+ Better Business Bureau Rating System Overall Better accreditation since 11/4/1985 and has been awarded the Best Roofing Company 6 years in a row with the Somerville Weekly News.
